At The Elephant In The Room Gifts, our aim is simple, to redefine how we support the people we care about when life becomes difficult.
We have created a considered, one-stop destination for useful gifts for cancer, recovery, grief and loss, mental health challenges and other critical illnesses. Every product is researched and thoughtfully sourced to offer genuine comfort and practicality, never a token gesture.
We prioritise working with Irish and local suppliers wherever possible, many of whom have experienced their own health challenges. Their lived understanding adds depth and authenticity to everything we offer.
Our focus is always on meaningful gifting. Gifts that feel supportive and genuinely helpful. Because when someone is navigating physical or emotional challenges, what we send matters.
And yes, humour has an important place here too.
For some people, laughter is not inappropriate, it is survival. It’s how they cope. It’s how they reclaim power in situations that can feel overwhelming. Our lighter collection exists for those who want to poke fun at the elephant in the room and give it the proverbial two fingers. Not because the situation isn’t serious, but because sometimes refusing to be silenced by it, is deeply empowering.
We also recognise the wider circle affected by illness. Caregivers, family members, friends and healthcare professionals often carry more than they show, and they deserve thoughtful support too.

Our Commitment to Sustainability
All our packaging materials are recyclable and we prioritise partnering with companies that share our sustainability values. Whenever possible, we collaborate with Irish businesses to support the local economy. This is a choice that also helps minimise our carbon footprint.
For example, we source all our bubble wrap from Green Bubble, an Irish company specialising in eco-friendly protective packaging.
Furthermore our printed materials are created by Jollipop Illustration, who use 100% post-consumer recycled, FSC-certified paper supplied by an Irish family business.
We make every effort to reuse or recycle all packaging from our suppliers and we encourage our customers to do the same by reusing or recycling our gift boxes and wrapping materials whenever possible. Nothing should go to waste!
